We all know common contraceptive method such as condoms or hormonal contraceptives such as pills. But, the truth is that many of us are tired of the daily pills or condom prices.

Nowadays, the contraceptive diaphragm is quite unknown as the great enterprises want you to buy products which are for single use, but the truth is that the diaphragm is one of the first contraceptive available on the market.

What is The Caya® diaphragm?

The Caya contoured diaphragm is a female contraceptive barrier device. It is single-size design which fits broad range of women.

Thanks to its design, it is easy to use and discreet. Caya should be used with a contraceptive gel such as CayaGel or ContraGel Green to increase the safety of this contraceptive method. The increased acidity and the viscosity of the gel have a motility inhibiting effect on the spermatozoid. With Caya, you can have sexual intercourse more than once.

It is important to know that Caya does not protect from sexually transmitted diseases.

How Caya works

You can put your diaphragm in up to 2 hours before intercourse and must be in place 6 after the last vaginal intercourse.

Inserting Caya

  1. Wash your hands with neutral soap and water. Wash the Caya diaphragm as well.
  2. Place about one tea spoonful (4 ml) of CayaGel or ContraGel Green in the diaphragm and spread some about the rim.
  3. Find a comfortable position.
  4. Hold the Caya diaphragm with one hand and fold it. With the other hand, separate the lips of your vulva.
  5. Push the diaphragm as far up and back in your vagina as possible.
  6. Check with your longest finger whether the cup covers cervix. If it is not inserted correctly, pull it out and place it again.

It requires practice, so at the beginning it could be a bit complicate.  Do not get frustrated if you are not able to insert it in the first time, just take a moment, breathe deeply and try again.

NOTE: Do not leave the diaphragm in place for more than 24 hours.

Removing Caya

  1. Wash your hands with neutral soap and water
  2. Hook a finger over the top of the rim
  3. Pull the diaphragm down and out.

Before using it the first time, we recommend you to practice a couple of times.

Contraindications
